Let's Go Outdoors supports Fairmount Water Works' education programs. "The Wondrous World of Water," "Understanding the Urban Watershed," and Seeing is Believing," are the primary educational programs, though there are many others. Our Educators assist the Water Works in facilitating these tours and lessons. Click here to learn more about their Education Programs.
Enrichment sessions are Let's Go Outdoors' specialty, where children/youth are connected to their outdoor world in an easy, non-intimidating manner, allowing them to have fun and be "fit" to further explore their natural surroundings as they interact with their peers. Using outdoor themes (i.e., camping, hiking, fishing, etc.), we facilitate programs that offer a fitness alternative and STEM concepts. Field day type stations, teambuilding activities, and movement techniques are possibilities for these programs. Email info@letsgooutdoors.net to learn more.
Nature Intervention is a therapy-style program for 5-12 year old children (with caregiver) with a learning disability, speech/language delay, sensory impairment and/or on the autism spectrum. The program works to increase children's language, interactions and comfort in the outdoors. For caregivers, this program gives ideas for engagement in new activities while giving
strategies to work on child's skills. Click here to view flyer and register.
Our drinking water comes from our environment. During a 45-minute interactive lesson, a Let's Go Outdoors educator will teach participants how our behavior can prevent water pollution and protect the source of our drinking water. This is an important educational message offered through the Philadelphia Water Department. Perfect for classes, as an information table during a parent night, health fair, community day, etc. Click here to learn more, register a group/class, or invite us to your event to set-up an informational table.
